I've been loving to dress up since forever , didn't matter what outside tempeture was if I wanted to wear something I was allowed. And I emjoyed the freedom of dresses. In my teen years or more like preteen tweeb shit I stopped cuz of many things,Bulllying self worth , gender questioning and mostly cuz I'm from fuck ass nowhere. Mostly all that cool want for diffrent clothing ended up in me watching people making dolls or historical costumes. And i really wanted to make a corset for years and I mean years but never had the knwolage or materials for it until 2020 hit I had a school project to make something by myself and I got my materials toghether but then cuz covid hit everything fekll apart again. So a ferw years pass In 2023 I finally started looking for a pattern and a time period I wanna work in. I found a pattern I liked in the book by jill salen "corsets historical patterns & tehniques " 1890s-1900 black and yellow flossed corset. I did make mine without the corind and in some fun pastel fasbric. So I finished it in march of 2023 . Now it's 2026 ansd my brain is like heyyyyyyyyy rember the corset you should totally make a full fit like those fashion creators you see on tiktok. So for the past 2 moths I think I've spent my nose in archives looking for good patterns and what I could get my hand on for free and with the mindset that maybe my antsectors could have gotten their hand on it. But thoubt that cuz my family comes from like farmers .
now that the backstory for this is given I guesssssssssss
mt first layer has always in my mind been combinations....finding a suitAable one as a pattern is hard and annoying the portal for achived books in my country sucks ass and the libary had some cool thing but all I found started in the 1910s and 20s so I ventured out again to pinterest but people don't add links to where the things are from and the date. I'm not with the best eye on the fashionable siluette plus all the patterns have them folded in the drawings what is silly.
so to understand what the heck the patterns really look like I've made a little version of the pattern cut it out of some shit fabric and sewn it togheter I did that 3 times. I found one I like the pin said under it it's supposed to be from " Illustrierte Frauen zeitung " 1878 winter but I coudn't find it myself. but it was fun to scroll through the other ones of them.
So now I need to just make a human sized copy of the pattern
